Dell vostro 230 network adapter
I've been cursing Windows 10 Anniversary upgrade for days now and it had absolutely nothing to do with that (unless Windows 10 has incorporated some ErP setting which interfered with my motherboard's BIOS settings). Saved settings, started the machine into Windows 10, closed down and waited.Īnd it worked! No frustrating start-up whirring anymore just when I've got up and am about to leave the room. I have an ASUS Z97-A motherboard with BIOS version 2501Īdvanced Mode -> Advanced -> APM Configuration -> ErP Ready > Enabled Still not quite sure but it's something to do with making sure your computer, when turned off or sleeping, is consuming less than 1W of power just enough to trigger the "On" button when you want to turn the thing on.Īnyway, what did I have to lose after trying all the other "solutions" that hadn't worked?
I'm not a computer geek by any means so had to find out what ErP is. The problem was solved in this case by "enabling" ErP in the motherboard BIOS. It was someone else having problems closing down the computer but nothing to do with Windows 10. Turning off All motherboar lights when shut down.
I've tried everything suggested in this thread to no avail (computer starting up again after 10 seconds or so - really infuriating) but after a lot of searching, I found this link. I have had this problem since installing the Windows 10 Anniversary download. Hopefully somebody can be of assistance.Windows 10 Computer Not Staying Off. I upgraded one of my systems to 10 the other day and ever since it won't stay off, it just turns itself back on every time I shut it down.
